The key to the communal laundry room in the block of flats on the Rue de Genève 85 in Lausanne serves a much greater function than merely unlocking the door. This encounter between a symbol of typical Swiss mentality with a penchant for order and the tenants who have been housed here by the city’s social services department is not something to be taken for granted. Although the laundry room is normally located in the cellar, the tenants in this building share a tiny laundry room off the entrance hall because the cellar is reserved for prostitution. To maintain order and cleanliness, the landlord hires Claudina, a new “laundry woman”.

Floriane Devigne was born in Lausanne in 1977. Graduated from INSAS and the scenario and documentary workshop of La Fémis, she directed in 2007, La boîte à tartines, selected and awarded to DOK Leipzig, RIDM Montréal, Étoiles de la SCAM. His first feature-length documentary film, co-directed with Fred Florey,"La clé de la chambre à lessive" (Grand prix SSR-SRG at Vision du réel) was selected at numerous international festivals (Busan, Doc buenos Aires, RIDM Montréal). She also directed Dayana Mini Market for Arte, awarded at étoiles de la Scam 2014. Member of the writing commission of the CNC from 2009 to 2011, and of the SCAM since 2015, she participates in the production of several films as a writing and editing consultant.
Fred Florey was born in Geneva in 1971. He is a student and then assistant to the Beaux-Arts in cinema. He works on numerous film shoots as a cameraman and produces several documentary series for TSR, le musée de la Croix Rouge, le Musée d'art contemporain or Expo 02.
His films "Terres Promises" (2007), "Amotmalies" (2007) or "Les Saisons de Marie-Thérèse Chappaz" (2009) and "La clé de la chambre à lessive" (2013) are presented and awarded in many festivals.
